Chapter 848 'Normal' Breakfast-1

While Samuel was hiding away from public eye waiting for the eventful party, Delphina was going through her own troubles.

She went ahead and disclosed about the recent share acquisition which in turn alerted his father that his daughter had a mysterious backer.

He knew everyone who had capable wealth to ease her with such a large transaction. After a few phone calls with his contacts, he wasn't able to find this mysterious person.

In his decade of reign, he never thought he would be presented with such a situation, the buyer's identity was so well covered that people would hang up on him when he asked about it.

He had plenty of contacts inside the government, even they didn't dare to say anything to him which made him annoyed. The most he could get out was the information that the voting rights were firmly in his daughter's hands.

Still fearing that his daughter was tricked as it was common for powerful people to utilizes loopholes to have their way, decided to hold a family brunch.

Since his wife passed away, this practice had became a thing of the past still when their father called, the two siblings didn't dare to turn down his invitation. Anyone could tell that even at the age of retirement, he still was the strong head of the company.

While he waited for his children to arrive, he asked some of his people to conduct their own operation. Having immense wealth, he obviously had his own dedicated division which were responsible for his and his children's safety.

It didn't take long for his men to give him all the recent information of his two children. As usual, his oldest child Alan was wasting away his life but recently he was focusing too much on a single girl. He looked at the information and squinted his eyes and suddenly slapped his thigh.

Such was the ways how he grew up in, he wanted both his children to suffer few setbacks before they burst open the cocoon of security.

These were not his thoughts but he was pouring his heart out to his butler making him understand why he was doing this to his children.

The butler was puzzled hearing his master talk on and on about his plan because throughout the years that he worked under him, he never heard him speak so casually with him.

The shrewd old man of fashion street was speaking his mind aloud to another person, those that knew him wouldn't believe even if he told them about it.

The butler heard every detail attentively, memorising it like it was his will. He gave the old man couple more glances, his face was still the same with a dignified expression with a little hint of sorrow.

How long had it been since he seen such genuine expression on his master's face? Has he truly willing to let go after all these years?

Bernard's eyes met the middle aged butler's eyes as he nodded towards him hearing the commotion downstairs.

Before butler could say anything, someone knocked on the door telling about his children's arrival.

He stood up and tidied up his clothes before heading downstairs. It's been years since they last had a meal together like this so he knew there would be some friction. Nonetheless, he was looking forward to the sudden family reunion.
