Chapter 297: Cecilia Bennett – Delivering Drinks
Chapter 297: Cecilia Bennett – Delivering Drinks
Theo Shaw had just stepped out of the classroom after school when he saw a girl with a charming smile at the door.
She was holding a cup of cola, her eyes curved into a smile, and they noticeably lit up when she saw Theo Shaw.
"Senior, you said you didn’t like milk tea, so I thought you might like cola. A lot of guys do."
Cecilia Bennett handed the cola to Theo Shaw, saying with a smile, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
She had a pretty smile. Though still young and a bit shy, it was easy to see she would grow up beautiful.
"Sorry, I don’t like cola either."
Theo Shaw declined.
It’s not about not liking it, just not wanting to accept it.
Once you accept something from a girl, it could become a bit tricky later on, so Theo Shaw usually wouldn’t accept.
"How about Sprite?"
Like a magician, Cecilia Bennett pulled out a bottle of Sprite from behind her. She looked up at Theo Shaw, her eyes filled with laughter.
Cecilia Bennett was only about 140 cm tall in junior high, while Theo Shaw in high school was already 180 cm tall. Together, they created quite a contrast.
"Not drinking."
Theo Shaw paused for a moment, then shook his head and said.
"Do you want Wanglaoji?"
Cecilia Bennett blinked, suddenly holding a bottle of Wanglaoji. She blinked again as she looked at Theo Shaw.
This girl...
"Thanks, I don’t drink it."
Theo Shaw paused again and declined once more.
No, not drinking.
"Alright then, I guess I didn’t guess your preferences."
Cecilia Bennett packed up the three bottles of drinks and muttered.
"So what do you like to drink?"
Cecilia Bennett pouted and pressed for an answer.
"No need, thank you."
Theo Shaw shook his head. He drank cola and Sprite, but didn’t want to drink what Cecilia Bennett bought.
"Alright then, I’ll come again tomorrow."
Cecilia Bennett sighed, then turned and left.
"No..."
Theo Shaw just started to speak, but Cecilia Bennett was already bouncing away.
Theo Shaw watched as Cecilia Bennett linked arms with another girl, talking and walking away, his words stuck in his throat.
"Damn, doesn’t drink anything. Does he think I believe him?"
Cecilia Bennett complained, holding onto Holly Sawyer’s arm.
"Tsk, then why are you throwing yourself at him?"
Holly Sawyer rolled her eyes at Cecilia Bennett, feeling speechless.
She knew Cecilia Bennett’s temper well; now she was actively sticking herself to him.
"A person with such a high self-regard, I naturally have to play along."
Cecilia Bennett raised a brow and responded slowly.
Though young, she could see that Theo Shaw wasn’t rejecting because he didn’t like drinking, but as a way of refusing her.
"Tsk, don’t play with fire and get burned."
Holly Sawyer reminded, gently patting Cecilia Bennett’s shoulder.
That’s just Cecilia Bennett’s personality.
"Of course."
"Tomorrow, I’ll gather all sorts of drinks, and I won’t believe he won’t take it forever."
Cecilia Bennett took out her phone from her pocket, muttering about needing to do a little research.
"Give it a rest. You’re just upset that someone didn’t accept your gift."
Holly Sawyer gently poked Cecilia Bennett’s forehead, speaking softly, a bit helplessly.
Cecilia Bennett was indeed upset; she just wanted someone to accept her affection.
"I, Cecilia Bennett, am offering a gift. How can anyone refuse? I’ll keep giving it until he accepts."
Cecilia Bennett said stubbornly, her eyes full of determination.
Holly Sawyer looked at Cecilia Bennett helplessly and decided not to bother.
Cecilia Bennett was true to her word. That afternoon, she stood at the door of 11th grade class one with a large bag of beverages.
Famous ones and unknown ones, she had gathered them all. Having a best friend who’s a foodie meant knowing a lot about snacks, which included drinks.
"You..."
Theo Shaw looked at the persistent young girl in front of him, sighed, and a hint of helplessness flashed in his eyes.
This young girl really is...
"Just tell me what you like. Don’t say you don’t like anything. I’ve even bought mineral water."
The bag was somewhat heavy, so Cecilia Bennett dropped it on the ground, speaking with particular bravado.
Theo Shaw: "???"
"Give me a bottle of mineral water, then."
Theo Shaw was stunned for a while before slowly speaking.
This young girl’s perseverance meant it seemed he had to accept it.
Otherwise, Cecilia Bennett could pester him indefinitely.
"Here you go."
Cecilia Bennett found the bottle of mineral water and handed it to Theo Shaw.
Theo Shaw thanked her, "Thank you."
"This is a bit heavy, so I’m leaving it all to you. I’m too lazy to carry it."
"If you don’t want it, just throw it in the trash can."
Cecilia Bennett glanced at the large bag of drinks on the ground, her eyes rolled, and after leaving those words behind, she hurried off.
Running faster than a rabbit.
Theo Shaw: "???"
Just left this pile of drinks for him???
What on earth???
"Tsk, that junior’s really loaded."
Theo Shaw’s deskmate saw the scene and sympathetically patted Theo Shaw’s shoulder.
In the end, Theo Shaw distributed that large bag of drinks to all the classmates, not too much or too little, just right. Theo Shaw even suspected that Cecilia Bennett had done it on purpose.
After the beverage incident passed, Cecilia Bennett didn’t bounce around Theo Shaw anymore, as if she had vanished.
She appeared again a week later in the audience seating at the senior year basketball game, holding a bottle of mineral water.
"Haven’t seen that handsome senior in a while."
Cecilia Bennett rested her chin in her hand, speaking while pouting.
"Look, down there."
Holly Sawyer had accurately spotted Theo Shaw, reminding her.
Cecilia Bennett looked carefully.
Sure enough, Theo Shaw was sweating it out on the court.
Cecilia Bennett’s eyes twinkled, and she went to give him water specifically after he finished.
Theo Shaw saw Cecilia Bennett appear out of nowhere, his heart suddenly becoming a bit complicated.
A little afraid of what surprising move Cecilia Bennett might make.
"What are you doing here?"
Theo Shaw asked.
"Watching the game."
"Drink water, you said you like drinking mineral water."
Cecilia Bennett handed the mineral water to Theo Shaw, blinking slightly as she spoke.
"I..."
"If you don’t take it, I can’t guarantee I won’t do something regrettable."
The words were cut off by Cecilia Bennett before Theo Shaw could finish.
Theo Shaw: "???"
He obediently accepted Cecilia Bennett’s water, not daring to say another word.
Feeling quite apprehensive, fearing this girl would suddenly give him a whole pile of mineral water.
Theo Shaw had never encountered such a strangely wired girl; she was just eerily unusual.
"I just don’t understand why someone only likes mineral water."
Cecilia Bennett muttered.
