Chapter 267: An Overly Youthful Face
Chapter 267: An Overly Youthful Face
The wedding dress is sorted, but the bridesmaid dress is needed too.
Outside the fitting room, Holly Sawyer sat leisurely on the sofa playing with her phone, waiting for Cecilia Bennett to try on clothes.
"Hey, Holly, what do you think of this one?"
Cecilia Bennett walked out of the fitting room, examining herself from head to toe in the mirror, but she still felt something was off.
The dress looked nice, but wearing it just felt strange, a bit out of place.
"The dress is fine, the person is fine too."
Holly Sawyer’s eyes first landed on the dress, then on Cecilia Bennett, and she spoke slowly.
"So?"
Upon hearing this, Cecilia Bennett was a bit puzzled and blinked gently.
So where’s the problem?
"The style doesn’t suit you, silly."
Holly Sawyer lightly tapped Cecilia Bennett’s forehead and rolled her eyes helplessly.
Cecilia Bennett’s style can’t handle such a fresh, girly dress; it just looks increasingly odd.
"But aren’t all bridesmaid dresses like this, fresh and cute and all?"
Cecilia Bennett pouted, spinning in front of the mirror as she spoke.
After all, she had seen many bridesmaids wearing similar dresses, looking like fairies and very pretty.
So why did it look so out of place on her?
"Have you ever worn a girly dress? Are you ladylike? Are you quiet?"
Holly Sawyer looked at Cecilia Bennett, feeling speechless, speaking slowly as if utterly bemused.
Cecilia Bennett shook her head.
Holly: "See, that’s exactly it."
"Try this one, it should be better."
Holly Sawyer handed a slightly retro-style dress to Cecilia Bennett, gesturing for her to try it on.
The dress was simple and elegant, with a classic touch. It should suit Cecilia Bennett’s style well.
Whether a dress looks good or not, it really needs to be tried on.
Cecilia Bennett came out of the fitting room, and Holly Sawyer nodded. It did look pretty good.
"Wow, my charm is back!"
Cecilia Bennett glanced in the mirror and spoke confidently.
It really was a stark contrast to just now; earlier it was utterly mismatched and odd.
"You’re about to get married, and suddenly I feel emotional."
As they walked out of the dress shop, Cecilia Bennett commented emotionally.
Her best friend was getting married. Cecilia Bennett was genuinely happy, but also a bit upset.
She didn’t quite know how to describe her feelings, wanting to be happy for Holly Sawyer, but feeling an inexplicable sadness inside.
"I believe you’re not far behind."
Holly Sawyer curved her lips in a gentle smile as she spoke slowly, her voice warm.
She had found her happiness, and naturally hoped Cecilia Bennett would find hers too.
People always wish happiness for those around them, and Holly Sawyer was no exception.
"Me, well... maybe."
Cecilia Bennett lowered her head and chuckled softly.
Truthfully, Cecilia Bennett understood in her heart that it would be hard for her to meet someone she liked.
Her heart was small, only holding one person, and right now, there was already Theo Shaw in her heart; it probably couldn’t hold anyone else.
So, she might be alone for the rest of her life.
Settle?
Sorry, she didn’t want to or was willing to.
"Time is a good healer; it will heal things."
"There are many people in this world, and one day you’ll meet someone who makes your heart race again."
Holly Sawyer spoke slowly, fully understanding Cecilia Bennett’s thoughts.
The two of them were indeed very similar, seemingly different types but in some aspects incredibly alike.
Holly Sawyer comforted Cecilia Bennett this way, while also contemplating if she would end up solitary.
Cecilia Bennett: "I hope so."
"Let’s have a good stroll now since you’re soon to be married, you might not have much time in the future to hang out with a single person like me."
Cecilia Bennett casually hooked her arm around Holly Sawyer’s as they wandered.
Holly Sawyer’s future life would include a husband and children, an entire family behind her, and life might be a bit different.
"Who said that, call me anytime, and I’ll be there."
Holly Sawyer rolled her eyes at Cecilia Bennett, looking at her somewhat helplessly.
What was she talking about, truly?
Does getting married mean they’re no longer best friends? That she’d no longer care about her?
"Nah, think about it; if I ask you to hang out in the future, there’d be a little one with you. How could we have our girly time alone?"
Cecilia Bennett analyzed seriously, speaking earnestly.
She suddenly imagined that scenario.
Holly Sawyer: "..."
Suddenly, she wasn’t in the mood to deal with Cecilia Bennett, just feeling an urge to punch her.
"I suddenly thought of something."
Cecilia Bennett’s eyes sparkled with amusement as she looked mischievously at Holly Sawyer.
"What?"
Faced with Cecilia Bennett’s mischievous expression, Holly Sawyer sensed something ominous.
"You look so young; when you take your child out in the future, will people think you’re the sister or the mom?"
Cecilia Bennett said with a twinkle in her eye, speaking slowly.
Honestly, she was quite curious.
Holly Sawyer already looked particularly young; at twenty-one, she still resembled a child.
People could easily believe she was just starting high school.
Looking young has its perks and downsides.
"Shut up, will you."
Holly Sawyer raised her eyes, giving Cecilia Bennett a glare, finding her utterly annoying.
At the same time, Holly Sawyer began contemplating in her mind; she really did look quite young.
"Come with me to do my hair."
Holly Sawyer suddenly grabbed Cecilia Bennett’s hand, heading toward the hair salon.
"What kind of hairdo?"
Cecilia Bennett was momentarily unresponsive, looking at Holly Sawyer with puzzlement.
What kind of hairdo?
So random.
"I want to get a perm."
Holly Sawyer answered truthfully.
"What kind of perm?"
Cecilia Bennett was utterly confused, why suddenly had Holly Sawyer decided to get a perm? Odd.
Holly: "Curly."
Cecilia: "???"
She didn’t understand; her brain couldn’t process it at all.
"You can’t just find any hair salon for a hairdo; you need to pick a good one."
Cecilia Bennett paused, speaking seriously.
Getting a haircut or hairdo, one must find a skilled professional.
"Any recommendations?"
Holly Sawyer truly paused, asking for advice.
"There’s a good place downtown, where I’ve done my hair."
Cecilia Bennett brushed her hair lightly.
She really liked getting her hair done and had probably done it two or three times since she returned to Arkenfall.
