Chapter 108: Unwanted meeting
Chapter 108: Unwanted meeting
Seraph met up with Sylvia and the twins just as he promised, looking completely unharmed.
"Did you get what you wanted?" She asked, looking at his expression.
"I did. Let’s return and show this to Elder Song."
Seraph answered, not wanting to waste any time here.
Sylvia understood, and they immediately departed. By morning, they returned to the Soul Cross Sect and headed to the Mission Hall first.
Walking to one of the counters with the mission slip, Sylvia made her report. She said nothing about the diamond spirit crystals, but simply reported the presence of the Inferno Sect camp at the Congo Mountains.
"Alright. Thank you for that."
The woman behind the counter smiled and gave her a pouch containing four golden spirit crystals.
Sylvia looked at it, then handed the pouch to Left. "It’s for you guys. I’ll bring your share of the other soon."
The twins were shocked, but they knew trying to refuse was unnecessary.
They nodded, then immediately went to the cafeteria to eat.
Now left alone with Seraph, Sylvia looked at him and ruffled his hair.
"You look gloomy. Cheer up."
Seraph rolled his eyes and pulled her nose teasingly. "It’s hard to believe you’re older than me."
Sylvia’s nose flared immediately, and she threw a punch at him.
Already expecting this, Seraph dodged and fled, heading straight to Elder Song’s house.
"Hey, you brat!"
Feeling indignant, Sylvia laughed darkly and chased after him. They climbed up the mountains without spiritual energy, and by the time they reached Elder Song’s mansion, they were a little breathless.
"Wait. Senior Sister...!"
Seraph’s voice sounded panicked as he tried to placate her, but she wasn’t having it at all.
She slammed into him, pushing the door behind him open and sending them toppling inside.
She fell atop him, stubbornly pulling his ears as revenge.
Suddenly, she froze. Why was she feeling many eyes on her?
Shouldn’t it only be her sister in the building?
The two of them looked up and were surprised to see every single Core Court disciple of the Soul Peak staring at them with strange expressions.
"Ugh..."
Sylvia’s face twitched, and she felt like burying herself in the ground.
Chuckling, Leon stood up and grabbed her waist, keeping her glued to him.
Understanding what he wanted to do, she wrapped her legs around his hips and locked her slender arms around his neck. Then, she conveniently buried her face in his shoulder.
Seraph turned to face them all, struggling to keep a friendly smile.
"Well, hello everyone."
He smiled, then walked towards the stairs. "You guys continue your... discussion?"
That was when he heard the voice he had been avoiding.
"Seraph? What..."
Appearing from the balcony, Song stared at the two of them with a shocked gaze.
Hearing her sister’s voice, Sylvia snuggled deeper into his embrace, as if she wanted to enter him completely.
Song frowned and was about to scold them, but then she had an idea. Her frown switched into a beautiful smile, causing Seraph to shiver.
"Ah, it’s good that you two are here. How about you join us?"
Seraph licked his teeth and tried to come up with an excuse, but none came. Reluctantly, he turned around and climbed down the stairs.
"Release Sylvia. Or is something wrong with her?" Song continued to smile.
Seraph felt Sylvia tighten her grip around him, and he smiled bitterly. "She... she’s asleep. I should probably put her to bed."
The faces of the core disciples warped into shock at the blatant lie, but a sharp glare from Seraph shut them up.
Song’s lips twitched. "Is that so? Well then, you can continue carrying her. Let’s all be present in the meeting."
Rolling his eyes, Seraph sighed and agreed. He sat on a lone chair, with Sylvia wrapped around him and pretending to sleep.
’A saint can live a thousand lives and die only once. The clouds, the mountains. Purity, holiness, and control. Like controlling the raging waters...’
["Hahahaha! This is top-notch hilarious. Are you trying to control yourself?"] Halo laughed hard. ["I know the robes conceal it but I have to admit that this girl has a huge backside! Your holy restraint must be on the verge of snapping, am I right?"]
Seraph’s face darkened. Usually, he had never been in a close contact with any female. And even his little shenanigans with Yelena was nothing serious.
But now, being locked in this position for who knows how long, he felt like his alter ego might really rise to the surface.
’And there’s no way she wouldn’t feel it since she’s awake... damn, just forget it.’
"So, what do you think? Seraph?"
Song’s voice snapped him back to reality, and he realized he had been zoning out trying to control himself.
"Oh." He coughed awkwardly. "What was that about? I didn’t quite catch it."
Song sneered faintly. "I was asking about your thoughts on attacking the Inferno Sect."
"My thoughts?" Seraph smiled. "I want nothing more than to crush them."
Song smiled back. "Good. Very good."
Then, she turned to the others and continued the discussion. Seraph also began to pay attention, ignoring the ’sleeping’ beauty in his arms. As a result, his restraint was slowly released.
Sylvia had been pretending to sleep when she felt something rising from below her. She immediately recognized it, and her face burned with even more embarrassment.
’Damn rogue...’
Tightening he grip around his neck, she playfully bit his shoulder, causing his face to twitch.
Song noticed and glanced at him. "Is everything alright, Seraph?"
He immediately shook his head with a bitter smile. Meanwhile, Sylvia continued to nibble on his flesh as if she was a dog.
["Hehehehe, you should ensure you punish her properly later. Since she’s playing the bunny and trying to harm you with her teeth, you should respond properly as the big bad wolf."]
Halo suggested with what Seraph could imagine as a smug grin.
’Hey, Halo. Have I ever told you that you’re super annoying?’ Seraph deadpanned.
["Aww... thanks for the compliment."] Halo chuckled shamelessly.
Enduring the physical and mental torment, Seraph was forced to stay put for a long while.
