Chapter 724: Ranking

Samuel woke up the next day with Kate in his arms. He didn't know what happened but they spend all day yesterday literally joint at the hip. From eating to showering together they were constantly at exploring each others body like they were possessed or something.

It was intense yet comforting feeling, getting lost in each other's eyes baring themselves naked for other person to see. By the end of it, Kate was so tired that she passed out while she they were in the middle of it.

For the next hour, Samuel cleaned up everything. Several bed sheets that were drenched, decorations were broken in the heat of her climbing on top of his body as well as the kitchen where they 'experimented' with foods, he systematically erased the clues so that Amanda and Nicole wouldn't freak out.

Next he used his regenerative abilities to heal both their bodies, his was littered with scratches while she wasn't faring better with wounds all over her body that were harmless and would heal in few days but she would feel too embarrassed to go out with it.

He quietly got off the bed and went for a quick shower. He was set to prepare some food for both of them but suddenly, he heard his phone buzzing. He saw the caller ID and took it outside to take it.

" Hello? Sami? I didn't wake you up did I?"

" I was already awake but it was definitely a surprise, Mr. Stephen." He answered. They were currently on a leave period before the shooting of next two movies which would happen back to back which meant there would be little to no leave period for him next year. " I was just calling to tell you how successful the movie did over the weekend."

" Is that so?"

" You don't seem so surprise. Did you already envisioned it to go this way?" Stephen asked. He was the one taking all the heat due to numerous scandals involving the main star of the movie.

" I guess. I had faith in the fans of the movie beside no matter what was going on with me, the movie was well made."

" Well, that's because the executives and investors put immense pressure on the studio to do their best. Do you know how they would keep hounding me for numbers this week? I can't even enjoy the holidays with my family!"

" Haha, I thought they would stop it after watching the screening last week. Even the critics claimed it as a spectacular watch but for them it's the number and money that counts." Samuel knew where their priorities lied.

No matter the case, there was little chance for any of them to succeed since there can't be two lions in the same arena!

" Right, right. That's the name. They poured in huge amount of money almost double our budget bragging to bring in even more money but for now their number looks like they would barely break even."

" I wouldn't be so sure about it. From what I have noticed, they have huge demand for such movies which centers around fantasy and epic settings. Doesn't our movie fall into same category?" Samuel was sure, it would gross more than Harry potter.

" But we have existing fan base around the world. How could they perform better than us?" Stephen didn't want to admit it.

" That may be so but with their huge marketing budget which must be twice than ours and their movie leaning more toward adult. It would be a success since it would intrigue the audience with it's unique plot." He added.

" Did you secretly watched it already?"

" One of my friend told me this and I also looked online for some reviews." Samuel couldn't say he knew about it because he was aware of the future. He also couldn't admit that he watched it in theatre since he was banned from going outside that time because of his scandal.

" Fine, we might leave some scraps for those sly bastards. It would be too bad if they admit defeat so early." Stephen wasn't worried about it. They made what they invested already, anything more would be counted toward their profits!

They talked about few more minutes, Samuel asked for Stephen to give him his schedule early. It would be good that he wrap up important things so that he could focus solely on shooting the last two movies.

He hung up the phone and sat down on the living room with a cup of tea in his hand. Other than big budget movies there was another big event that was set to take the world by storm. Last year, Iron man was released and coincidentally it too didn't made large headway.

Marvel were experimenting for almost a decade at this point and their track record was abysmal to say the least. For Ironman they casted someone who was janky and stiff with their acting labeling the movie as nothing more than a parody for it's comic's counterpart.

With their failed launch Samuel's didn't know what was in store of the whole superhero franchise. If it were a success, Disney would soon acquire the whole brand later raising this small child into a behemoth.

Nothing could compare the superhero craze of 2010s with Rothschild being a large shareholder in the company they were in track to rake in huge return on their investment. The question was whether he should help them or create his own franchise to rival them.

Whether he did something or not, Disney would grow exponentially in the future. He didn't know if he should capitalize or leave it be in the fear that it would change the future.
