Chapter 195: Private Work
After returning from the racecourse, Lin Mo went home, took a shower, and dove straight into bed. He wasn’t sleepy, just tired—so tired that it felt even more exhausting than finishing his morning exercise.
He didn’t have the strength to do anything else, only wanted to lie quietly on the bed for a while. He didn’t even want to look at his phone.
In truth, massage itself wasn’t tiring—at least not for him. Usually, massaging someone only made him sweat a bit from his forehead. But giving a massage to Old Master Jiang was different.
He had to maintain a steady rhythm for a long time. Relaxing the body was only part of it; the main goal was to help Old Master Jiang fall into a deep sleep to restore his energy.
That made the massage take on a new nature—it wasn’t just for relaxation, but to induce sleep. Of course it was exhausting, especially since each session lasted an hour, draining both strength and focus.
Fortunately, Wang Chu and the Sichuan Girl didn’t come to bother him—perhaps out of guilt—otherwise, even if he wanted to scold them, he wouldn’t have had the energy.
Meanwhile, after getting off work, Liu Rushuang thought for a long time but didn’t have the nerve to go to Lin Mo’s place again for dinner. Instead, she went to Su He’s place to hang around.
“Come on, my great boss, why are you here again? You’ve got such a big house, yet you’d rather squeeze in here with me. And I have to play the Auntie and serve you—are you gonna pay me a salary? Tell me, how many days a week do you crash here?”
Inside the room, Cousin Su He looked at Liu Rushuang, who was sprawled on the sofa, hugging half a watermelon and digging into it spoonful by spoonful, and she felt utterly exhausted.
If she hadn’t been single and without a boyfriend, this daily visit of Liu Rushuang’s would’ve been a real problem.
After all, a whole day of work left an office worker full of resentment, and when you finally got off work hoping to rest alone, finding an uninvited guest at home—well, that was definitely annoying.
But Liu Rushuang had no self-awareness—or maybe she did, but didn’t care. Given how close they were, she knew Su He couldn’t kick her out anyway.
Please, you’re a woman, I’m a woman—what, are you going to stab me?
“I was just bored! Besides, who told you not to go to my little brother’s place with me? Since you wouldn’t go, I could only come to you,” Liu Rushuang said with a grin, scooping another bite of watermelon.
Su He couldn’t help laughing in exasperation. “You wanted to go, then go! Why drag me along?
It’s almost October first—we’ll both be heading back home together soon anyway. And didn’t you stay over at his place last night? From the looks of it, things got quite lively. But next time, could you not use your feet? I’m worried you might have athlete’s foot. My cousin is the only son in the family; his… future lineage can’t afford any accidents. My second aunt’s counting on him to pass on the family name!”
Hearing that, Liu Rushuang looked completely puzzled. “What does that have to do with passing on his family line? I didn’t even kick him!”
Su He blinked and tilted her head. “Didn’t you say you used your foot? That means—foot—”
Before she could finish, a throw pillow flew straight into her forehead.
“Get lost! How can your mind be so filthy? Stop watching those unhealthy things, will you?”
Su He rubbed her forehead and shot back, “Then why did you mention using your foot? Tell me—what exactly did you use your foot for?”
Liu Rushuang:
“I—I stomped on his head, obviously! And I don’t have athlete’s foot! My feet are clean, okay?”
She didn’t dare admit she had actually crossed the line that morning—her behavior wasn’t much less perverted than what Su He had just accused her of.
Su He snorted. “Hmph! Who knows? Some people love walking around barefoot on the floor, I’ve seen it myself. Clean? Your soles are black, and your socks are stiff—I’ve seen them! You might act like a goddess in front of others, but I could expose your blackmail material by the basketful!”
Liu Rushuang: “As if I don’t have yours! Your Ku Cha Zi shorts fade, and your butt turns red!”
Su He: “You—you hit your chest on the door once, and one side swelled bigger than the other!”
Liu Rushuang: “You sneezed while eating instant noodles and noodles came out your nose—I still have pictures!”
Su He: “You had those kinds of dreams in college and even moaned out loud! I still have the recording!
You wouldn’t want my cousin to hear about that, right?”
Liu Rushuang: (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻
“I’ll fight you to the end!”
Su He: (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻
“Old cucumber, who’s afraid of who? Bring it on!”
The two women started by hurling blackmail at each other, then it escalated into a physical scuffle, ending abruptly with a sudden moan from Liu Rushuang.
Cousin Su He immediately took two steps back, her clothes disheveled, staring in disbelief at Liu Rushuang, who lay sprawled on the sofa. “You—you actually reacted like that? You… have feelings for me?”
Liu Rushuang lay on the bed now, her clothes equally messy, hair tousled, cheeks flushed. When she realized she’d just made that kind of sound, she covered her mouth in shock and stammered, “Nonsense! I didn’t!”
“You didn’t? Ha! No wonder you keep wanting to run to my cousin’s place. So it’s your heart that’s fluttering, huh? Tell me, what exactly happened when you stayed over last night? Be honest, or I’ll record this!”
As she spoke, Su He aimed her phone at Liu Rushuang, planning to keep it as leverage for future blackmail—after all, this was a rich lady.
Even if she didn’t record it, Liu Rushuang probably had dirt on her too. If she got a boyfriend in the future, who knew how she’d be threatened? Better to strike first.
“You dare threaten me?”
“Cousin, I have something to tell you.”
“Ahem, let’s just sit down and talk properly.”
Liu Rushuang then roughly recounted what happened the previous night, leaving Su He confused.
Five minutes later, Su He blinked in disbelief. “That’s it?”
“What else? I just showed off in front of Yuanyuan, rubbed some medicated oil on his chest, then slept in his bed while he took the couch,” Liu Rushuang explained.
Hearing that, Su He took a deep breath. “My cousin isn’t some muscular guy with abs, and he doesn’t even have pecs. Even if you touched him, you wouldn’t be reacting like this. As for sleeping in his bed—impossible. No, you’re hiding something.”
“There’s really nothing else!” Liu Rushuang insisted.
Su He smirked coldly. “Heh~ your eyes are darting, your hands and feet are stiff, and you’re stuttering. Still denying it? If you don’t talk, I’ll call my cousin!”
“Wait! It’s just… in the morning, my little brother suddenly went crazy and grabbed my hand. Then he cooked me breakfast himself,” Liu Rushuang admitted awkwardly.
Su He nodded—then froze. “Wait, my cousin can cook?”
“He can! And he’s amazing at it! I even thought about investing so he could open a restaurant,” Liu Rushuang said.
“Hold up—I’m confused. Forget it, just tell me—he held your hand, and then what?” Su He asked, shaking her head.
At that, Liu Rushuang hesitated. “Then he just held it for a bit… and suddenly went cold, like he’d turned into a different person. He even told me to wash the dishes while he went back to sleep! You think I could take that humiliation?”
Su He: “So?”
Liu Rushuang: “So I shoved my foot in his mouth!”
Su He: “...You two have some unique hobbies.”
“You don’t understand! He was infuriating, I—” Liu Rushuang started to rise to her feet.
Su He immediately raised her hand and backed away. “Stop right there. Just talk from there, okay? You’re kind of a pervert, and I think we should keep some distance!”
Liu Rushuang:
The biggest difference between women and men was that women really could talk about anything, while men couldn’t.
For women, chat logs between best friends were as precious as a man’s browser history.
In short, this time Liu Rushuang had been completely and thoroughly interrogated by Su He.
While finding both of them weird, Su He also felt a headache coming on. At this rate, expecting Liu Rushuang to have kids was pointless—she feared the “old woman” would hit menopause first.
The next morning, Lin Mo woke up as usual for his morning workout. It was Saturday, and the Little Old Lady wasn’t there, so he was alone. But the track looked a little different from yesterday—workers were setting up facilities for the opening ceremony of the sports meet.
That’s right—it was Sports Day. Most universities held it around this time, lasting two days and ending just before the October break.
Some counselors even forbade students from going home early in case of accidents. Though for fourth-years like them, it was more relaxed, the counselor still sent a reminder in the group chat.
Ignoring all that, Lin Mo started his routine workout. After a month of consistency, he’d completely adapted to this rhythm. Now, skipping morning practice even once felt strange.
As for last night’s online shopping page, nothing good had appeared—just a pack of Huazi cigarettes for a penny, which he grabbed anyway.
Sure enough, not every day brought good finds. Still, since he’d sold off his last batch yesterday, he’d likely earn another big sum soon. He already had over 2.9 million yuan; maybe he’d break three million before heading home.
He couldn’t wait to see how much the two remaining items would fetch.
After his exercise, Lin Mo planned to eat breakfast at the cafeteria. Since Liu Rushuang wasn’t around, and there were no “side quests,” he definitely wasn’t going to cook for himself.
He got his breakfast tray and was just about to sit down when he spotted two unexpected people.
In the corner sat Li Shiya and Wang Chu, both wearing formal attire, huddled together eating breakfast. Even though it was perfectly normal, they looked guilty, like they were sneaking around.
“Ahem.” Lin Mo walked over, set his tray down with a loud clack, and sat beside them. “You two have anything you want to say?”
Caught red-handed, they lifted their heads from their plates with sheepish smiles.
Wang Chu: “Old Mo, it really wasn’t our fault yesterday! We weren’t being disloyal—Sister Yuan was clearly coming for you! We had no choice!”
The Sichuan Girl nodded repeatedly in agreement.
“So that’s your excuse for abandoning me? Who was it that dragged me over there in the first place, huh? Speak!” Lin Mo slammed the table.
Wang Chu quickly grabbed a sausage from his own tray and dropped it into Lin Mo’s plate. “Cool down, Old Mo! We meant well—we just wanted to take you to meet some girls! Who knew Sister Yuan would be that unreliable?”
The Sichuan Girl nodded again and even offered her tea egg.
Lin Mo couldn’t help laughing in disbelief. These two idiots had just accused him of living off a girlfriend and even made him treat them to seafood. Now they were the ones trying to set him up?
“Don’t know why, but I suddenly feel like eating Haidilao,” Lin Mo said lazily.
Wang Chu immediately declared, “We’ll treat! Me and the Sichuan Girl—our treat! You’ll eat till you’re full!”
The Sichuan Girl nodded like a bobblehead, silent as ever—fitting her “Han Wang” persona perfectly. Outside, Li Shiya never spoke more than necessary.
Seeing how eager they were, Lin Mo decided to let it go. After all, last night’s “disaster” had turned into a stroke of luck—he’d managed to sell off his goods.
“Alright, let’s call it even. But seriously, what’s up with you two? Getting up early to eat breakfast—and Sichuan Girl, what’s with that outfit? You getting married or playing bridesmaid?” Lin Mo asked curiously.
After all, these two were notorious late risers in their dorm. Of course, he used to be one too—until the shopping page missions forced him to change. Without that, he’d never believe these two had a reason to wake up early.
“Ahem, well, it’s Sports Day,” Wang Chu said with a lewd grin.
Lin Mo: “So?”
Sports Day had nothing to do with them—they were fourth-years. They hadn’t even joined last year.
Wang Chu glanced around, then leaned in and whispered, “The Sichuan Girl took a side job—she’s posing as the flag-bearer for the freshmen in the Civil Engineering Department.”
Lin Mo’s eyes widened. “What?”
“Shh! Keep it down!”
They quickly pulled him closer. Wang Chu lowered his voice further. “This year’s Civil Engineering freshmen don’t have a single girl, so they had to borrow from other departments.
After you left yesterday, the Sichuan Girl went out with makeup on and got approached by one of them. They added each other on WeChat—she used a side account, said she’s a senior from the Art Department. Next thing you know, they agreed! The guy even covered her outfit expenses and paid her 200 yuan as a service fee.
The only requirement is that she has to outshine all the other departments’ flag-bearer beauties.”
Hearing that, Lin Mo couldn’t help feeling bad for the freshmen. “Aren’t you afraid they’ll find out?”
“So what? Just admit it—she’s gorgeous, right?”
Lin Mo: “…”
