Chapter 502 - 500: "Brother, Do You Really Like Kids?
Chapter 502 - 500: "Brother, Do You Really Like Kids?
As Wen Mu stepped forward, Tang Si stepped back slightly, his expression indifferent: "What can I do to him? Arrest him according to the law."
The man’s tone was icy: "If I don’t arrest him today, he might die at the hands of drug dealers tomorrow."
"Moreover, I’m sure you know what I’d like to do with him. But have I done it all these years? If I wanted revenge, I wouldn’t need such means."
Wen Mu glared: "Don’t talk nonsense! What do you mean, arrest him according to the law? What crime did he commit? What evidence do you have? It’s nothing but taking him off a cruise ship. He’s so exceptional; he must have been set up. You make sure to investigate thoroughly."
"He can’t have anything happen to him." Wen Mu insisted, "He absolutely can’t have anything happen!"
"If something happens to him, what will you use to compensate?" Wen Mu’s emotions were somewhat agitated.
In her eyes, Wen Mu is the most outstanding; he’s always been top in everything from childhood, courteous and filial.
A good child like that, how could he possibly embark on a path of crime? Especially a criminal offense.
Having nurtured and raised such a son with great difficulty, how could she be willing to see him ruined?
Among wealthy wives, who doesn’t praise her son Wen Mu when they see her? Which of the wealthy young ladies isn’t chasing after Wen Mu?
How could he possibly do such a thing?
Wen Heshang looked at Tang Si, his face also cold: "No matter what mistake he made, you should discuss it with the family first. He is your brother, and as his elder brother, you should consider things for him. What are you doing now?"
"Does it not matter to abuse power for personal gain?" Tang Si’s face suddenly wore a smirk, lazy and soft, yet completely devoid of warmth: "Should I shield Wen Mu, clear his charges, and then incriminate myself, and that’ll make you happy?"
His words were laced with mockery and sarcasm.
Wen Mu interjected, pointing at Tang Si: "Words can’t be said like that! What do you mean by clearing his charges? What crimes did he commit? That’s too unpleasant to hear. He’s definitely been framed. You must investigate thoroughly; if you can’t find anything, then the problem lies in your ability, who else can be blamed?"
She was very angry: "I know there’s a grudge between you two, but you shouldn’t use this issue to pressure him. You also can’t avenge a private grudge publicly."
Tang Si: "If I wanted to oppress him, would he still be alive now?"
He lifted his cold gaze: "Understand this clearly, Wen Mu and I are irreconcilable; I can’t be brotherly with him nor maintain superficial relations with you so-called parents—you know why in your hearts."
"But if I wanted revenge, would I need to wait until now?"
For Tang Si, past issues are in the past; no matter how immense the hatred, he can let bygones be bygones, but cannot forgive.
Tang Si is clear-minded and transparent; when he cannot seek justice for himself, he will seek justice for others—he does not wish for the world to grow darker and darker.
He wouldn’t waste away in hatred for anyone either; time is a luxury, always thinking of revenge makes one a puppet of hatred.
He has his own opinions, soul, and thoughts, even able to detach himself from any emotions, clearly grasping the importance and urgency of matters.
He always understands what he should and shouldn’t do.
Tang Si spoke deliberately: "You should be thankful I chose this path under your kind of upbringing, rather than taking a morally questionable route, otherwise none of you would have it easy."
Wen Heshang frowned, admonishing: "What nonsense are you spewing? Did I raise you for nothing? Was there something missing when I fed you? Was the money I spent on raising you not money? Did I let you sleep on the streets?"
"Now is not the time for this; you must get your brother out for me."
Wen Mu was arrested, and despite employing numerous avenues, all were fruitless; eventually, he learned the case was being handled by Tang Si.
Upon realizing this, he was instantly furious, suspecting Tang Si was doing this deliberately.
Song Yi stood beside, watching Tang Si’s face grow colder bit by bit, the entire atmosphere becoming very subtle.
The issues surrounding Tang Si in the Wen Family were certainly unseemly and unsightly.
Tang Si’s eyes deepened as he spoke: "If spending money for me to die is your idea of raising someone, then I have nothing to say."
"However, right and wrong aren’t determined by you, nor are you the ones who decide." He smiled mockingly: "If you have the capability, then come sit in my position. Welcome the competition."
He did not wish to dwell on past events; right now, it’s about addressing the matter at hand.
The implication is already clear—he is in this position and will do what needs to be done for this position; others cannot interfere. If they wish to, then they must ascend to his position before saying anything.
Could Wen Heshang and Wen Mu possibly sit in that position?
"You’re being unreasonable." Wen Mu pointed at Tang Si, furious: "With your attitude, I’m going to report you!"
Where is there a policeman like this?
"If I had known you were such a cold-hearted and unfeeling person, you shouldn’t have been kept in the Wen Family."
"In the end, you even arrested your brother."
"Can you shut up?" Song Yi spoke up: "Is it because he was in your Wen Family? Is Wen Mu committing a crime related to whether Tang Si is a member of the Wen Family or Wen Mu’s brother?"
"Did Tang Si force Wen Mu to do these things?" Song Yi’s voice was cold, witnessing these bizarre parents, such shamelessness for the first time.
"If you want evidence, don’t go looking here; hire a lawyer, go to the prosecutor’s office or the court to argue. Don’t you understand this much?"
Song Yi felt, for the first time, such a strong urge to rip someone’s head off, if it weren’t illegal, she’d do it.
"Evidence! You want evidence; if the evidence shows he committed a crime, a terrible crime, and needs to pay with his life?"
Wen Mu trembled with anger: "You wouldn’t dare!"
Song Yi sneered: "Is it up to you to decide dare or not? None of us count, anyone with a bit of brain wouldn’t come here making a scene."
These days, even someone brainless can open a company—she was seeing it.
"Alright." Tang Si frowned, pulling Song Yi along: "Don’t talk to them, go inside, don’t dirty your eyes."
"I’m not afraid of dirt." Song Yi bluntly said: "You even lived under the same roof with them before."
"If you aren’t afraid, what’s there for me to be afraid of? How can you tolerate these kinds of people?"
He wasn’t exactly tolerating, just not wanting to argue, but now disturbance came to his doorstep, and he wouldn’t be easy to bully.
Tang Si wanted to say he would resolve this issue himself.
Song Yi directly addressed the two: "With Wen Mu’s situation, approaching Tang Si is of no use. It’s up to the law to decide."
"You keep claiming you’ve raised him with efforts, but I truly can’t see that whatsoever."
"I have a solution." Song Yi smiled briefly: "Whether raised or not, none of us can substantiate that; let’s set an amount as compensation then."
Wen Heshang didn’t expect Song Yi to say this; this was plainly an insult!
Wen Mu’s face darkened: "Is having money allowing you to act unchecked? Money can’t buy family ties, much less affection."
Song Yi turned her head to Tang Si: "Do you have family ties and affection with them?"
Tang Si didn’t speak, so Song Yi answered for him directly: "He doesn’t."
Song Yi coldly laughed: "How about buying out your Wen Company—will that be enough?"
"What?!" Wen Heshang’s pupils widened, hardly believing his ears.
Song Yi: "One more word, and I’ll make good on my promise."
The world of the wealthy is just this domineering.
Acquisition means money, but it also cuts off the way back.
The undertone has been clearly expressed—if you insist on opposing Tang Si, fine, but then prepare for the Wen Family’s assets to be swallowed up and disappear.
Not daring to boast, the Song Family is a business giant; acquiring companies is just a matter of time.
The Song Family Business has now expanded overseas, becoming a multinational conglomerate and large enterprise.
Tang Si spoke up at this point: "I don’t owe the Wen Family anything. In fact, if we were to dissect it, it’s you who owes me. No matter how much of a fuss you make here, it won’t change anything."
"And my relationship with the Wen Family is a private matter. If you’re here to settle this with me today, I don’t mind ending this family relationship right here."
It’s always been a known relationship, as big companies require some semblance of reputation.
Some things, when spoken aloud, truly sound unpleasant.
Ever since his mother passed, Wen Heshang remarried, and with Wen Mu being such a prominent figure, Tang Si became a point of focus for everyone.
Everyone wanted to see if Wen Heshang was fair to both sons.
Wen Heshang handled it well by simply forcing Tang Si to be sent away, making him unseen by others.
Even when he was at home, Tang Si wasn’t necessarily living well.
The conversation had reached this point, yet the two didn’t seem inclined to leave.
Song Yi frowned, suddenly turned around, and called out, "Haha, come here."
Haha was particularly aware of the current situation.
"Woof woof woof—" barking fiercely, it rushed out.
Wen Heshang and Wen’s mother were so scared they ran off instantly, fearing they might be bitten—an instinctive reaction.
...
In the living room.
The two of them sat on the sofa.
"Sweetheart." Tang Si called her, his tone soft.
Song Yi turned her head: "What?"
She still found it absurd to this point—how far Wen Heshang went as a father was unbelievable.
Tang Si took Song Yi’s hand, lowered his gaze, and looked at her delicate hand, slowly saying, "Let’s change houses."
"To one they can’t find." Tang Si continued, "I’ve been considering this for a while and have looked at some properties. Do you have a preference for a particular type of layout, or should we buy a villa?"
"I’ve checked out some villa areas as well."
Tang Si indeed had paid attention and looked at many properties. It was high time to choose a nice one, renovate, and move, but since the house was for both of them, his preferred style might not be to Song Yi’s liking.
And Song Yi thought it was because of today’s incident that Tang Si intentionally wanted to move.
"It’s no big deal. I think living here is nice, cozy, and I’ve gotten used to it. Moving is such a hassle."
Tang Si noticed Song Yi’s thoughts and chuckled lightly, "It’s not because of what just happened. I’ve been looking for a while. I just feel this is a suitable time to discuss it with you."
"I’ll pay and put it in your name."
Song Yi raised an eyebrow and smiled charmingly, "Are you giving me a house now? So rich, huh?"
Suddenly, she felt like she was being pampered by a domineering CEO. To think of owning property, something she found straightforward, yet she didn’t know why her heart felt as if it was filled with sweetness, like honey.
She couldn’t help but throw herself at the man.
"I’m already yours," Tang Si said as he embraced Song Yi casually, "What’s a house?"
"Besides, this house is indeed a bit small." He pursed his lips with a faint smile, "In the future, when we have kids, a bigger place will be necessary."
These things really should be considered and planned for.
Song Yi raised her head from his arms, "I never said I would have kids with you."
Tang Si tilted her chin up, his eyes deeply looking at her fair face, "If not with me, then who?"
Song Yi laughed and asked, "Brother, do you really like kids?"
"Not exactly," Tang Si said, "I just want yours and mine."
"It’s not a must. If you want them, we’ll have them. If not, that’s fine too, but we still have to buy a house."
"Neither of us knows how to cook, so we’ll definitely need a housekeeper."
Song Yi said, "Can’t you learn how to cook?"
"Even if I did, because of my work, I couldn’t cook for you often."
Song Yi didn’t say he should give up his job for her either.
Such a statement would be too unrealistic and unreasonable.
She didn’t oppose buying a house; doing life’s proper things with someone you love—this is what happiness is.
"So should we go house-hunting this afternoon?" Song Yi asked.
Tang Si chuckled lowly, unable to resist lightly pecking her lips, "Are you free this afternoon, President Song?"
"I am." Song Yi smiled with delight, "You’re going to give me a house, so I must fulfill your wish."
She got up from his arms, "I’ll go tidy myself up."
Song Yi changed into her casual clothes, but what she hated most was tying her hair.
With her long hair, it never seemed satisfactory to tie up.
Tang Si just sat there watching as Song Yi gradually became exasperated, his amused, low laughter drifting into Song Yi’s ears.
Song Yi threw a comb towards Tang Si, "Laugh, laugh!"
Of course, the comb wasn’t likely to hit him; he caught it effortlessly, his eyes glancing at Tang Si with the comb in his hand, gestured for her to come over, "Let me comb it for you."
Song Yi doubted, "Can you do it?"
Tang Si replied, "A man can’t say he can’t."
Song Yi rolled her eyes, always teasing with words.
But she went over nonetheless, curious to see what style he’d come up with for her.
As it turned out, he truly had the skill.
Song Yi said, "Have you been secretly styling hair for other girls outside behind my back?"
Tang Si looked at Song Yi in the mirror and replied, "Specially learned for you."
Learned it? He actually went to learn this?
"When?"
"After we started dating," Tang Si answered, "To avoid situations like today. Tying your hair can almost make you cry, can’t it?"
He spoke indulgently, also reaching to pinch her cheek.
Song Yi could feel herself being coaxed into happiness, "Where did you learn it?"
Tang Si’s slow voice answered, "In the pathologist’s department, lots of heads for practice."
